Hunt has significantly grown since its modest beginnings in 2009 when our company was based out of Will & Beth’s Washington, D.C. apartment. (Learn more about Hunt’s journey in our founders’ story.) Now, as we celebrate our 15th year in business, we can think of no better way to celebrate than share our success with others!
This year, we’ve selected 15 charities to donate $1,000 each towards their mission, resulting in $15,000 total in gifts overall! Now, enough about us. Let’s talk about this month’s organization, Louisiana FFA!
About Louisiana FFA
Louisiana FFA, which stands for Future Farmers of America, is, “a dynamic youth organization that provides students opportunities for leadership development, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.”
The institution is composed of nearly 13,000 middle and high school students enrolled in agricultural education courses spread over 212 chapters in 53 parishes.
Active participants are given opportunities to master a wide variety of skills in relation to agriculture such as animal and plant science, mechanics, business, environmental conservation, and leadership. Foundation Director, Raquella Manuel, emphasizes that the foundation’s ultimate vision is to “provide every ag education student with access and opportunity for SAE, FFA, and Classroom Excellence [and make a] positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.”
The $1,000 given by Hunt will be dedicated to the foundation’s flagship event, the state convention, where nearly 2,000 students will have the opportunity to travel to Alexandria, Louisiana and attend various workshops, celebrate the achievements of fellow members, and hear from various guest speakers. The funds, according to Raquella Manuel, will “alleviate the financial burden on students, ensuring that every young leader has the opportunity to participate regardless of their financial situation.”
We are honored to help such an amazing organization, and encourage you to learn more about Louisiana FFA by visiting their website.
