Hunt has significantly grown since its modest beginnings in 2009 when our company was based out of Will & Beth’s Washington, D.C. apartment. (Learn more about Hunt’s journey in our founders’ story.) Now, as we celebrate our 15th year in business, we can think of no better way to celebrate than share our success with others!
This year, we’ve selected 15 charities to donate $1,000 each towards their mission, resulting in $15,000 total in gifts overall! Now, enough about us. Let’s talk about this month’s organization, More Than A Meal!
Who is More Than A Meal?
Based in Oxford MS, More Than A Meal is an organization dedicated to helping those in need, and has been making a positive impact in the community since 2009. Staying true to their name, the charity provides more than a meal to its recipients by hosting speakers and local organizations to discuss helpful information and services in addition to providing weekly meals at the Stone Center.
Some resources the group has offered in the past include eye screenings, health checks, financial planning education and flu shots. Other activities throughout the years have included arts and crafts, live music by local artists and even puppet shows provided by the puppeteers from Oxford Public Library.
Funds donated by our anniversary gifting initiative were used to replenish More Than A Meal’s toiletry closet from which guests receive toiletry items each week. Items include but are not limited to paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc. We are so excited to see More Than A Meal continue to help our community and are honored to support such a wonderful organization.
